Parking for College Gameyday

Submitted by ThorsHammer on October 11th, 2018 at 11:23 AM

Hi There, I usually park at the Coliseum Lot for football. However, it looks like the university lots are not opening until noon. Anyone have ideas on where to park for college gameday?  I was thinking perhaps try to find a spot in student ghetto (around White St. and Dewey Ave.). Then I could move my vehicle to our lot after gameday.

Whenever I go downtown I park in the parking structure on E Washington St between S Division St and S State St. Not sure if this structure will be an option on Saturday morning but I would give it a try. Should be a real short walk to the set as well.

I always park at the Maynard garage.  It's not crazy expensive and there's usually spaces available, even fairly close to kickoff.

It's a long walk, but fine if the weather isn't total crap.

Not trying to hi-jack the thread (and I haven't posted here in quite some time) - but I'll be attending this weekends game. This will be my first ever Michigan game, and first ever gameday Saturday in Ann Arbor. I'm taking my dad as a gift to him for his recent retirement (his first game as well and life long UM fan). If the board doesn't mind, could you please help me out with some tips and advice for this first ever experience? What places do I have to check out? What traditions must I participate in? Etc.

Thanks in advance!

We know where gameday is?  I would say you could easily park anywhere on the northwest side of downtown for free.  It just might be a small hike back to your car when you go to move it to the Coliseum.  Or pay to throw it in one of the parking decks downtown for a couple hours.
